Kanhaiya Kumar, On Hunger Strike For 8 Days, Is Stable

JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar, who was hospitalised on Thursday after his health deteriorated, is stable, AIIMS hospital has said. He has been on hunger strike for over a week.

Kanhaiya Kumar was first taken to the JNU health centre, but after his health deteriorated further, he was rushed in the evening to the emergency ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

  A statement released by JNU students union on Thursday had said. "Kanhaiya's BP dropped to 56 and his glucose levels also dipped drastically. He has been vomiting since last night. He was taken to the JNU health centre in a semi-conscious state and the doctor warned him of chances of internal bleeding if he continues with the fast,"

"The doctor has warned us that in case he continues in this condition there might be chances of internal bleeding," a friend of Mr Kumar said, adding that the student leader has refused to call off the hunger strike.

Going on a hunger strike is such an insane way to get things done. I mean seriously! why would someone care whether you eat or not. It's just a way to torture your parents who care for you more than anyone else.
